In order to fund these we are likely going to have a Easter Pie Drive (more about this to be discussed at the next committee meeting)

We look forward to all the amazing entries.

DC Now Open to Family & Siblings

We have decided to open the trip to families and siblings.

If you are interested in going we will need a deposit NO LATER than Friday March 4th’s meeting.

Deposit will be as follows:

$260/room – can sleep up to 4. You can have your own, or share.

Actual cost should be posted next week.

Families and siblings will be separate from the scouts, as we expect the scouts to room together.

Any questions direct to Mike

Mike’s Return

Mike was hoping to be back this coming Friday, but still needs a few weeks to get his home and family settled. He is now expected to return March 11th.

Anthony has done a great job so far as acting scoutmaster & will continue to cover for the next 2 weeks.

Mike looks forward to seeing you all soon, and can still be contacted via email, if you have a question. Anthony has full authorization to make any decisions, but if you need to reach out to Mike you can.

WASHINGTON DC DEADLINE + UPDATE

Friday, February 26th (THIS Friday!) is the last day to place your deposits ($65) to go on the Troop’s Washington, D.C. trip taking place April 22 through April 25th. Please see Mike or Anthony if you have any financial issues. If you are thinking of going, The White House requires some personal info that Eric S. will be taking with complete confidentiality.

John M. has worked out an action-packed itinerary for the DC trip. Some of the fun things we have planned are:

Saturday:

• A tour of the White House, a Troop picture by the Boy Scout memorial and a tour of the U.S. Capitol.

• For lunch we will picnic on the National Mall and the Scouts will have the opportunity to play some Frisbee during the picnic (joining in the tradition of playing sports on the lawn of the National Mall).

• Hiking along the National Mall where we will see (and visit) The Lincoln Memorial, several of the Smithsonian museums and other memorial located along the National Mall.

Sunday:

• We will travel to the Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center (The Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum). Where thousands of aviation and space artifacts are on display (including a Concorde Jet Airliner, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the Space Shuttle Discovery, and the Enola Gay).

• Then we head over to Arlington National Cemetery where Tour bus stops allow us to witness the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, tour the Arlington House (originally built to be a memorial to George Washington by descendants of Martha Washington).

• Visit JFK’s grave site and view the eternal flame in his memory.

• See the Mast memorial for the USS Main, the Space Shuttle Challenger memorial and many other prominent locations on the grounds.

If you want to be a part of this fun trip, place your deposit by this Friday! If you have any questions regarding the activities, see John M.

DC Trip Deposit Needed

If you plan on attending the DC trip, we have set up the following payment schedule as the trip like likely run $150-$175/per person.

$65 non-refundable deposit per person (youth & adults) is due no later than Feb 26

Remainder will be due no later than April 8th

The reason we had to setup as such is 2 folded:

-We need to book the hotels

-With the increased cost of the trip we wanted to give everyone time to pay

If anyone wants to go but has a financial issue, as always speak to Mike or Pat.
