Mike Needs Your Help!

I am writing this to you asking for your support. For a long time, running & finishing the NYC marathon has been a bucket list item for me. I recently had some health issues, which were really scary & eye opening at the same time (all is now fine). So I decided that this was going to “be the year I actually do it”.

I got blessed with an opportunity to join the Greater New York Council Marathon Team. As you may likely know, scouting has been a part of my life since I was 7 years old. The program had a huge impact on me, and 3 years ago I became the Scoutmaster of Troop 106. With my amazing team of leaders, we have grown the troop to one of the largest in Queens.

Scouting in NYC touches over 40,000 people, and provides opportunities to many that they couldn’t experience here in the city. I have committed to raising $3,000 to help support scouting in NYC. The money will go to preserve camps, help under-privileged scouts to fully participate in the program, & much more.

Will you stand with me in helping to fulfill one of my lifelong dreams while helping a program that is dear to the hearts of tens of thousand of New Yorkers?

No donation is too small and every little bit helps. If you would like to donate please use the link below: https://www.crowdrise.com/boyscoutsoanyc2014/fundraiser/mikeschulte

Thanks in advance for your time & support.

Help Kids with Cancer

If anyone has an old pair of sneakers they would like to donate please bring them to either of the next 2 meetings.

They will go to an organization called Max Cure (http://maxcurefoundation.org), which helps kids with cancer.

Scouts are encouraged to reach out to their friends and family who may want to help.

This is Sneakers Only. No shoes, boots, sandals, etc.

Congrats

After over a year of sacrificing Saturdays to test prep and study, Danny M., Troop 106, took five different scholarship and placement exams.  His results?  Brooklyn Tech offered him a seat, St. John’s Prep awarded him a Partial Scholarship and Honors Placement.  He won First Place in both the NYPD Holy Name Society and Emerald Society Competitions, and Cathedral Prep Seminary High School awarded him a Half Scholarship.  If you’re a Seventh Grader: STUDY and TAKE THOSE TESTS (You gotta be in it … to win it!)  He thanks God, his teachers, his Mom and everyone else who helped.  Great job, Danny!

If your son has achieved something great, please let us know as we would love to recognize him.
