Leaving for Summer Camp

Wow, Summer camp is almost here. We will be meeting at Trinity on Sunday at 9A sharp (scouts do NOT need to be in uniform). We plan to leave shortly after that and head up to TMR.

The following parents will be providing transportation to camp:

Bernadette

Ester & Jeff

Eric

John S

Martina

I want to thank those who are helping us get our scouts to camp, and also those who will help us once camp is over getting them home.

Here are directions to Aquehonga:

Take the Triboro Bridge onto Major Deegan Expressway (I-87 North)

to New York State Thruway over the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Exit #16 onto Route 17.

Travel on Route 17 for 44 miles to exit 104 (Monticello Raceway).

Travel on 17B for about 6.7 miles into White Lake and blinking light. At 0.7 miles beyond the blinker, make a left hand turn on Route 55 West.

Follow Route 55 for about 4 miles to the Ten Mile River Camp cut-off on the right hand side (County Route 26).

Look for Aquehonga Sign on the right

*****VERY IMPORTANT*******

I have only received medicals from a few scouts. I do not want to have any issues when we get to camp, so please reach out to Mike before Sunday so he can tell you everything you need to have filled out.

Thanks.

We’re going to the Big Apple Jamboree!!!

The premiere Big Apple Jamboree event is October 11-14 at William H. Pouch Scout Camp and promises to be a full weekend of High Adventure activities:

Summer Camp Transportation

We just wanted to let everyone know that Ester Levine would be reaching out to all the parents of scouts attending Summer Camp to arrange transportation.

We have 15+ scouts from 106 going each week.

Therefore we are asking that each parent provide transportation either up to camp or back from camp. With the price of gas and how many people we have going it is not necessary for parents to do both trips.

In the case where your son is only going for one week you would unfortunately have to make an extra trip as we dont have a way to get them up or back in between weeks 5 and 6.

Castle this Friday

Castle is a Dave and Busters type place but only bigger. They have roller skating, go carts, lazer tag, mini golf, and video games. It is off of I17 (about 10 minutes past Woodbury Commons)

We need to get a count as to how many people are going and which parents can provide transportation.

Due to the fact that it is a Friday we are attempting to see if we can leave at 3p, Instead of the 4p on the calendar.

PLEASE email Mike and let him know the following:

1) If you are going or not?

2) Can you provide transportation? If yes, how many can you fit?

3) Can you do 3P?

Thanks and see everyone Friday.

Great Opportunity for Community Service and to Help Those in Need

An outreach program in Queens has asked for our help in procuring school supplies to help kids of needy families get ready for the new school year. You can use the attached flyer to request donations from, neighbors, family and friends.

The school supplies will be distributed at a Free Kidz Day Event in Springfield Park on August 10th.

Because we will be at summer camp at that time, we are looking to help out before August 3. In addition to monetary donations, they are also collecting:

• Bottled water

• Juice boxes

• Book bags

• Pencils

• Pens

• Rulers

• Glue sticks

• Erasers

• Binders

• Loose leaf paper

• 24 count crayons

• 8 count washable markers

• Spiral notebooks

• Composition notebooks

Time spent soliciting will count towards your community service, so log your hours accordingly. Any and all help with this event, as always, is appreciated!
Please contact Mike if you have any questions.
