Congratulations

I would like to congratulate Jose on a job extremely well done.

Last month when (before Sandy) we released the information about the canned food drive we were doing Jose thought it would be a good idea to use the flyers to bring in cans. What he did next was above and beyond what was expected.

He spent 4 hours walking up and down Metro in uniform handing out flyers and asking for donations. All in all he collected 118 items of food and $212.35

Upon speaking to him a few days ago, he thought that using the money to help Sandy Victims would have been best. With the help of one of the connections we made during our drive, we found out there was a need for blankets in the Canarsie area.

Because of his hard work, we were able to purchase 35 blankets which will help keep people warm in an area where power still hasn’t been totally restored, and had money left over.

Great Job Jose. You made a difference in 35 people’s lives, which is something you should be very proud of.

Important Reminders

1)This is a reminder that tonight’s meeting will be Class B shirts and whatever bottoms you wish
2)Pies will be in on Monday, All orders will need to be picked up Monday night from 730p-9p at Saint Adalbert’s (5217 83rd Street  Elmhurst, NY 11373). The Troop & Pack’s order are being picked up my Mike & Henry and they have an Order of the Arrow Meeting that night, hence why the pickup location isn’t at Trinity. We DO NOT have refrigerated storage for the pies, so please make sure you pick them up Monday night.
Any questions or concerns direct to Mike

DC Update

Ok this will be the last post that comes from me for a while. Phillip will be doing the majority of the posting going forward.

We are meeting at the church tomorrow at 5P. You can come dressed how you please as we are not traveling in uniform.

Here is what you will need:

Full Class A uniform

Class B Shirt

Sleeping Bag (2 people are going to share a bed)

Swim Trunks (this is NOT a joke, the hotel has an indoor pool)

Comfortable Footwear (we are going to be doing a lot of walking)

Any other weather appropriate clothing (should be in the 60’s while we are there)

We are set to return on Monday in and around 2P. We will likely have to spend about a half hour at the church loading the remainder of the clothes into a truck of the company which is buying them. (more info on this will come out once I have it)

Saturday we will see the city in Class A uniform, Sunday we will see the city in Class B Uniform with Scout pants/shorts.

I have a few surprises up my sleeve so be prepared to have a great time.

Email/Call/Text Mike with any questions.

THANK YOU

I want to express my sincerest gratitude to EVERYONE who made our Sandy Relief Drive possible. This was a life changing experience, and I am so happy that I was able to share it with all of you.

PLEASE send me ANY and ALL pictures you may have taken during this as I am working on a video to highlight all the hard work.

I would like to especially thank Dawn Blaschick who actually had the idea for us to do this drive.

The efforts we all put forth is something we should all be proud of, as the lives of so many people have been changed due to all or your hard work.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to help others who need it most.

I hope you all have gotten as much out of this as I have.

See you all there. This has been a surreal experience and I am so happy to have shared it with all of you.

TODAY’s MUST READ INFO

Hi Everyone,

Today we need ALL THE HELP we can get. We are starting to wind down the drive and I have 4-8 trucks planned to come pick stuff up. We NEED EVERYONE that can come help to be at the church from 430p-830p.

I know a storm is coming, which is even more reason that we need to get these supplies out.

We have 5 gallons of gas which we can give someone with a large suv/van/truck that can provide transport for stuff to the rockaways. (LET ME KNOW)

Class B uniform shirt and whatever pants you want.

SEPARATELY:

1) We are still planning on going to DC (the gas situation seems to be easing up a bit). If anything changes we will post a notice here, otherwise assume we are going and nothing has changed.

2) If you are using money raised from the pies sales to pay for DC the forms need to be in today and you need to let me know that you want to do this.

Any questions see Mike.
