Holiday Party & Blue Mountain Update

Holiday Party
This coming Friday Dec 23 will be the Troop Holiday Party. It is open to everyone: family, siblings etc.

There will be a youth and adult secret santa. If you son wants to participate in the youth secret santa, they should bring a wrapped gift valued between $10-$20. If an adult wants to participate in the adult secret santa, they should bring a wrapped gift in the $15-$25 range.

We also ask that each family brings a dish from their culture, so we can all break bread together. We recognize that we have a melting pot of culture here at Troop 106, and we love to embrace it.

There will also be some fun and games planned. Doors open at 7p. NO UNIFORM for scouts.

Blue Mountain
This is our tentatively planned trip for Jan 13-16. We will not know if we are getting the reservation until Jan 3 or 4th. Once we have confirmed we have gotten the reservation we will send out a post on the website.

The trip will be $40/person. Sign-up & Payment will be required at the Jan 6th meeting. The place has 30 bunks, they will be reserved for the first 30 youth to sign-up, Adults and anyone who comes after the 30th sign-up will have to bring a cot or sleeping pad (NO QUEEN SIZED AIR MATTRESSES)

This tends to be the favorite trip of the year as the place we are staying is very comfortable and setup for a great time. Parents who tends not to be huge fans of the woods love this trip.

Any questions on either of these topics direct to Mike

Sponsor a Needy Foster Kid

It’s that time of year again, as many of you may know Mike co-chairs the charitable arm of the company he works for. Citi Habitats Cares is working along-side JCCA to sponsor over 175 NYC foster kids this year.

If you would like to sponsor a kid a $50 minimum gift is required (because for some these kids this may be the only gift they get), and all you need to do is contact Mike. He will provide you a wishlist from one & gifts need to be delivered to Mike by Dec 23 (You can give it to him at the troop holiday party)

Thanks in advance for your generosity.
