We will be there from 4p – 9p. First truck arrives at 430p

See you all there. This has been a surreal experience and I am so happy to have shared it with all of you.

PLEASE Send me any pics you may have taken during this. I am making a video highlighting our work.

BE THERE!!!!!

TODAY’s MUST READ INFO

Hi Everyone,

Today we need ALL THE HELP we can get. We are starting to wind down the drive and I have 4-8 trucks planned to come pick stuff up. We NEED EVERYONE that can come help to be at the church from 430p-830p.

I know a storm is coming, which is even more reason that we need to get these supplies out.

We have 5 gallons of gas which we can give someone with a large suv/van/truck that can provide transport for stuff to the rockaways. (LET ME KNOW)

Class B uniform shirt and whatever pants you want.

SEPARATELY:

1) We are still planning on going to DC (the gas situation seems to be easing up a bit). If anything changes we will post a notice here, otherwise assume we are going and nothing has changed.

2) If you are using money raised from the pies sales to pay for DC the forms need to be in today and you need to let me know that you want to do this.

Any questions see Mike.

230P TODAY

I need ANY and EVERYONE that can to be at the church at 230p today. We may be getting 2 uhaul sized trucks (still waiting on the confirmation, but they are working now on getting gas to come to us). PLUS I have other arrangements for transport throughout the day.

You are have gone above and beyond during this tough time and it makes me so happy to have a 106 on my uniform. We do amazing things and its all possible because of YOU!!!

It will be 230p-730p (we will be out of the church no later than 8P)

Class B uniform shirts and whatever pants you want.

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!! Tomorrow MONDAY!!

****UPDATE*****

We had an AMAZING first day, and currently have a gym full of stuff that will go to those who need it most.

I NEED everyone to give as MUCH as they can now. We will be at the church from 4P-9P tomorrow Monday, and likely will be getting a pickup of stuff donated today.

Everyone in class A uniform, Tuesday will be class B and normal pants. NY1 and/or Channel 7 may be on the scene tomorrow.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. This is so AMAZING on so many level

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUESTED

We are trying to get word out about our clothing/food/other stuff drive out. If everyone could help us make this go viral that would great. We ask that you do both of the following things:
1) Copy and Paste this email, and send to all of your contacts (Please also add jpg and pdf copy of the file):
Title: Scouts’ Sandy Relief Effort

body:Hello Everyone,

Hoping that you all made it through the storm safe and sound.

We have all watched the damage and devastation that Sandy has brought to our neighbors in Broad Channel, Breezy Point and the Rockaways and thought ‘Wow, I wish I could help but…’. Here’s your chance!

Boy Scout Pack & Troop106 based out of Trinity Lutheran are organizing a relief effort to benefit the families on the Rockaway Peninsula that lost everything to fires last weekend. Most of our communities weathered the storm fairly well and are in a good position to help those who need it the most. Please help me get the word out to all of your email and facebook contacts (Let’s go viral!). Donations can be brought to Trinity Lutheran Church (6370 Dry Harbor Road, Middle Village, NY 11379) this Sunday from 1-3 and every night next week from 6-8 pm. Attached is our flyer in pdf and jpg form.

Thanks in advance for all of your help,

BSA Pack & Troop 106

2) Logon to Facebook and upload the jpg of our flyer, then copy and paste the following note to go along with the picture:

Canned Food Drive

Troop 106 will be having its First Annual “Help the Needy Food Drive”. Any canned food and non-perishable items can be donated.

Each Scout is required to collect at least 25 cans of food. For each 2 cans over 25 the scout will receive 1 extra point towards Scout of the Month. We have a goal of 1500 cans of food.

We are working with Catholic Charities which has a food panty in Astoria where some of the food will be donated & The Soup Kitchen Rein Olvet runs. All cans must be in by November 9th.

Mike has set a personal goal of 250 cans and has a special prize if any scout can collect more than him. Any questions can be directed to Mike.

Documents which can be used to help collect will be posted soon.
