Good Evening, I hope all is well. I am writing to remind you that we do not have a meeting for the next two weeks. Our Next meeting is on Friday April 21st.
The Camporee will take place on Saturday April 22nd at Camp Pouch. Please let me know if you will be attending. We are only going up for the day. I am waiting on the District, before I announce the price.
Lastly, I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Passover and Easter.
We would like to share with you the details of Troop 106’s planned outing for Saturday August 12, 2023. This will be the Saturday between the troop’s first and second week at summer camp. Those scouts attending camp for both weeks should plan on participating unless they are being picked up by their parents for the day. There is no option to remain in camp while the rest of the troop is out. Those attending summer camp for only one week are welcomed to either stay one extra day through Saturday 08/12/2023, or to arrive one day early, in order to participate. The cost for the day’s activities will be $25.00 per person. Scout’s parents and siblings are welcomed to join us as well.
The troop will depart camp at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 12th and proceed to the Steamtown National Historic Site & the adjacent Electric City Trolley Museum. These are located in Scranton, PA a little over an hour from Ten Mile River.
Scouts will spend the afternoon touring the exhibits at both sites. The visit to the trolley museum will include a 1 hour ride on an historic restored trolley. All participants will be provided with a bag lunch and beverages will be available throughout the afternoon. Before we depart Steamtown, all participants will be provided a tailgate style dinner.
We will then proceed to PNC Field in Moosic, PA where we will watch the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Railriders host the Syracuse Mets at 6:05 PM. The Railriders are a Triple-A affiliate of the NY Yankees. Following the game, scouts will be permitted a brief stop at Walmart to pick up any necessities. We expect to be back in camp by 11:00 PM. Note that cash is not accepted for any purchases at PNC Field.
In consideration of the fact that group tickets for both the ballgame and the trolley ride will need to be reserved and purchased in advance, payment to the troop for all participants must be made no later than Friday May 12, 2023.
Cash or checks will be accepted at the Troop meetings.
Good evening hope all is well and. We have a regular meeting tomorrow night at 7:30 pm. Please wear your full uniform. The theme for this month is First Aid. We will contiune to work on the First Aid Merit Badge and the First Aid requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class. Please remember to being down your book. Please reach out to me if anybody is in need of a Board of Review.
We do not have a meeting on Friday April 7th (Good Friday) or Friday April 14th (Spring Break). Our next meeting will be on Friday April 21st.
Good Evening, for those going to Summer Camp, the early-bird payment is due to me by Wednesday, March 29th. The early fee is $615 a week and $75 discount if you stay two weeks.
Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
