Adult Volunteer Needed for Friday

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the movies this Friday, so I am looking for an adult who can take the lead.

It is very simple, all you have to do is show up (at trinity), let the scouts know what non-rated-R movies are playing and let them decide what they want to see, within reason (since we meet at 6, a movie with a 9p start time wouldn’t make any sense). Enjoy the movies with the scouts & make sure all scouts are picked up after.

Please let Mike know ASAP if you can take this role. Thanks.

All Hands on Deck This Saturday – Richard’s Eagle Project

So an expectation that I have for the members of this troop going forward is: When one of our scouts is doing an Eagle Project, ALL youth members & any adults are there to help.

This is new Troop 106 mantra, and will allow us to see at least 15 new eagle scouts in the next 5 years.  When you are part of an Eagle project you begin to understand the purpose of the project, and it helps to illuminate our scouts paths to Eagle as well.

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value”.

–Albert Einstein

With all of that being said, Richard needs you all at the church at 9A on Saturday. If you have a scheduling conflict and are not able to be there on Saturday, I encourage the scout himself (not his parents) to call Mike and make alternative arrangements to help with Richard’s project in another way.

Scouts is about working together to accomplish our goals.

Thanks

Richard Page Eagle Project

It has been a while since a Troop 106 scout has worked on an Eagle Project.

I am proud to announce that Richard Page has a project that was just approved and he needs your help.

He is doing a blood drive, which will take place when most of us are up at camp (Sat Aug 9). In order to drive traffic & raise awareness to his project he will be flyering a large part of Middle Village. The info on that is below:

When: Saturday Aug 2

Where: Meet at Trinity Lutheran Church

When: 9A

Uniforms are NOT required. Volunteers (parents and siblings are more than welcome) will be given a map and will be responsible for flyering all the houses on various blocks.

Any questions direct to Richard at [email protected]

These are the last steps of Richard’s journey to Eagle, and needs ALL of your support. Please make sure you are there. He also will need over 30 blood donors on the 9th, but more info will go out about that shortly.

Joe Bradley Dedication

Joe will be inducted into the TMR Hall of Fame on Saturday August 2nd @ 11A at Headquarters (TMR).

A large group of 106 people will be heading up to be at the ceremony & lunch afterwards. We will be staying in Aquehonga Saturday night. This is why we will not be meeting Sunday morning as a collective group at Trinity.

If you want to come to pay your respects please get in contact with Mike ASAP. Thanks.

Summer Camp UPDATE (Important Changes)

Here are a few very important summer camp updates:

1) We are NOT meeting at the church on Sunday to go as an organized collective group (more about this coming later). If your son needs a lift, please let Mike know ASAP so he can help to arrange that for you.

Scouts are expected to arrive (at camp) no later then 1130A on Sunday at site 3A. This year we are asking that no one pulls into site 3B to drop off their sons, as logistically it is just easier (and more spacious) if everyone uses the entrance to site 3A.

2) Mike needs ALL medicals, adults included ASAP

3) Here are various directions to camp:

4) Here is a list of things to bring & NOT to bring to camp:

checklist_camper

Here are some items we strongly suggest: jacket (does get cold at night), hot cup (for hot chocolate), work gloves, OLD clothes/sneaker/etc (yours son will get dirty, so please don’t send new items you don’t want getting destroyed).

5) THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! Under NO circumstances is a scout to have a cell phone at camp. If they are seen with one it will be confiscated and returned to the parent at the end of the first of second week. Please help us enforce this by making sure they do not pack their phones. This also applies to ALL electronics other than a camera. Any questions direct to Mike

First and Foremost I wanted to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July.

Secondly, Summer Camp is Fast approaching. There is a very essential task EVERYONE going to summer camp must complete. It is the Medical.

All medicals must be received by Mike NO LATER than 7/21, ideally I would like them at next fridays’ games in the park event.

Any question direct to Mike.
