It is always a hard thing to go through to see a grandparent pass away.

Last night at 10P Anthony Zalak’s grandmother passed away.

We will be canceling the regular meeting on Friday.

I am personally requesting that all of you attend the funeral service. Scouting has been something that has been important to Anthony since he was a kid (just like me). As his scouting family we should be here for him and his family in their time of need. I would like any scouts that do attend to please be in full class A uniform.

Time: 7P – 9P

Location: Anastasio Funeral – (533 Lorimer Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211)

Funeral Mass is Saturday at 9:30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Brooklyn

Troop 106’s 35th Anniversary Dinner & 35th Eagle Scout Court of Honor

We would like to invite you all to Troop 106’s 35th Anniversary Dinner & 35th Eagle Scout Court of Honor (Josh Maldonado).

The Anniversary/Eagle Court of Honor Committee made a decision to make all invitations digital as a measure of going green.

Date: Saturday, April 6th 2013

Time: 6P – 10P

Location: Trinity Lutheran Church (6370 Dry Harbor Road, Middle Village, NY)

Cost: $35 (Scouts (under 18) currently on our troops roster will be Free)

A Scout is Helpful…

Let Mike know if you log any community service hours this weekend (i.e. helping the elderly clear their walks, shoveling for neighbors).

The church is having a pancake dinner which we will be helping cook and serve (in full uniform)

This is a great opportunity to give back. All scouts who come will receive credit towards scout of the month.

Winter-Ree & Meeting Canceled

Due to the impending storm the Winter-Ree has been canceled. We have also canceled the meeting as well.

All funds paid for the winter-ree will go into individuals accounts and can be used for the next trip which will also be $20 or for future trips.

We likely will be having our own Winter-ree in Juniper on Saturday. Look for another post shortly.

Here is the WEATHER for this weekend’s Wintoree at Camp Alpine.

FORECAST

A low pressure system will bring snow, rain and more snow late Thursday through Saturday morning. In addition the storm will bring strong winds on Friday.

A total of 1 to 1 ½ inches of liquid precipitation is expected with this system. 1 inch of snow is expected through Friday morning before the change to rain. ¾ to 1 inch of rain is expected during the day on Friday. An additional 2-4 inches of snow is expected Friday night into Saturday morning.
