Sponsor a Needy Foster Kid

It’s that time of year again, as many of you may know Mike co-chairs the charitable arm of the company he works for. Citi Habitats Cares is working along-side JCCA to sponsor over 175 NYC foster kids this year.

If you would like to sponsor a kid a $50 minimum gift is required (because for some these kids this may be the only gift they get), and all you need to do is contact Mike. He will provide you a wishlist from one & gifts need to be delivered to Mike by Dec 23 (You can give it to him at the troop holiday party)

Thanks in advance for your generosity.

Boston Trip Update

Please be at the church no later than 6P. If you are someone who tends to be late, imagine we are meeting at 530.

Due to the weather (mid 50’s on Friday and mid 40’s on Saturday) we have amended the required uniform. Bring your Class B polo, which we will wear on Friday, along with pants of your choice. Saturday, you can wear whatever you please. Keep in mind that in the morning it will be in the high 30’s, so please pack appropriately.

Also, Scouts must bring a water bottle, mess kit & day pack (Backpack).

A bunch of people have asked about spending money. Considering all the places we are going, $40-50 should be more than ample. Scouts won’t need money for anything planned.

Send scouts with a dinner for Thursday evening as the troop will not be providing dinner.

Here is the list of the 12 boxs which will get bunks. This was based in order of who paid in full first:
Aiden
Sashi
Sal
Mohr
Sammon
Brandon B.
Matt Balsamo
Kyle
Thomas
Khyn
Patrick
Milo

Everyone else, adults included will have to sleep on the floor. You can bring a cot, or sleeping pad. No queen sized air mattresses. Make sure to bring a sleeping bag. Sleeping on the floor without a pad or anything will be a good precursor if you are going to Florida Sea Base, as the night we spend on the desertered island is coral, and one of the most uncomfortable surfaces in the world.

Scouts should have class A uniform, as well as class b polo. In the case your scout has yet to receive one please respond to this email and let us know.

Leaving from Trinity at 6p on Thursday. Returning by 2 on Sunday.

We still need 2 more drivers. We thought some adults might be enticed by the fact that we are having dinner at Cheers, Friday night in Boston.
