I want to congratulate Gabriel S. who did a great job as a Scout Speaker at yesterdays GNYC Annual Golf Outing at North Hempstead Country Club.
Congrats & Great job representing Troop 106!
Due to possible inclement weather, the Castle is recheduled until 7/26. Tomorrow, 7/12, will be a movie night. Please meet at Trinity at 6 if you are interested in joining us.
For those of you who have been to Summer Camp before you very well know the light blue t-shirt you have received.
Well we have retired that shirt (although we still have a few left which will be given out to scouts attending camp for 2 weeks, as the shirt they get for 1 of the weeks).
I am proud to show off our new shirt. Thanks to Dawn for helping in the design and ordering.
To All,
We are going to see the Cyclones on July 20th [see flyer] please . Parents, siblings and friends are welcome to join us. We are getting Field Box seats which are incredibly close to the action and only $16. Deadline is July 12th so we have time to arrange all the details. Game starts at 6PM and because its a Saturday most likely, weather permitting, going to Coney Island for a couple of hours beforehand.
Let Mike know if you are planning to attend and which part you are going to join us for ASAP, so we can group the seats together. Money can be dropped in an envelope at Eric’s house at 62-23 80th Street in Middle Village, if no one is home please put it in the mailbox. Please note on the envelope # seats and who is attending. For those going fishing this Saturday night, you can bring the money with you if you like.
Happy and Safe 4th of July,
Eric Schlesinger – Assistant Scoutmaster
2013 Cyclones BSA
Due to the tight time frame, Captain Tony in Sheepshead Bay has asked that we make our reservation for next weekend as a group. If you purchased a ticket for this trip. please send Eric your voucher numbers ASAP along with the names and ages of who is going so we can let them know.
Eric: [email protected] or 516-369-9451
We are now meeting at 5:00 PM this Friday.
–Phil
We were able to get wristbands for $20, all we need to do is have a minimum of 20 riders and pay for them in advance. We need to have the money by Tuesday nite at Eric’s house:
62-23 80th Street, Middle Village (green light bulb)
You can still come after that but you will have to pay the full $30 price for admission. We need a few more to lock in this rate so please do not wait!
As you may have seen in the previous post, we are able to buy tickets at a discount. Instead of $30, we can get unlimited rides for $20 if we have a group of 20 or more. We need to purchase them in advance.
So, if you plan on going to Rye Playland (and haven’t paid yet, 6/14), Please contact Mike immediately & drop the money off in Eric’s mailbox (63-23 80 St, Green Light in window) no later than Tue 6/4. After which point you will NOT be eligible for the discount pricing anymore and would have to pay full price on the day we attend.
We also were able to secure cheaper entrance for those who don’t plan on riding the rides, $3 instead of the $10 they normally charge.
Any questions direct to Mike.
Congratulations are in order for Gabriel Sifuentes who today won the NYJTL Metro Regional Championships for Boys 16 and under. The icing on the cake is Gabe is only 13 years old. Great Job!!!
If you have something you want to recognize one of our scouts for please contact Mike.
***Here is a pic after he won***
I am happy to announce that due to all your hard work, and the generosity of Suanhacky Lodge, we were able today to give $2,051 in camperships to two troops (troop 139 & 237) that were severely affected by the storm.
I spoke to both scoutmasters who will be deciding which scouts get the camperships (as they tend to know their individual scouts situations best), and both of them wanted me to convey how appreciative they were. Both of them literally said “wow, I’m speechless”
All of your hard work made a huge impact when the storm hit, and continues to do so.
We will continue to work closely with these two troops, so keep your eyes and ears open as they still are recovering and helping others is something we do here at 106.
You should all be very proud of yourselves.
