Help Needy Foster Kids this Holiday Season

As you may know Mike co-chairs the charitable arm of the company he works for (Citi Habitats). They are doing a drive in conjunction with JCCA (Jewish Child Card Association) to help the population they serve.

Mike is in possession of 40 Snowflakes from needy NY’er (12-21 years old) who are in the foster system. Last year his social network & Troop 106 was able to sponsor 25 kids. If you want so sponsor 1 kid or more please reach out to Mike.

The way it works is simple, we ask that you pick at least one of the gifts they request and spend a minimum of $50. We must receive the gifts no later than Dec 21.

Thank you in advance

This Friday Art Event

Our good friend Nicholai Khan (@nicholaikhan) will be spending time with us this Friday. He is an amazing artist who loves what the scouts do, and is happy to give back. Check out his art at: http://NicholaiKhan.com

Each scout will create a piece of art of their own, after spending time learning techniques from Nicholai.

***REQUIRED*** – Each Scout must bring a photo (landscape) that they want to create. This is a MUST. Mike will allow phones for this meeting if the picture is on there.

The cost is $5/scout to cover the cost of their supplies. We are also welcoming siblings, as supplies last.

Last years night like this was one of our best attended meetings.

Tick Check and Next Upcoming Trip

Reminder to check for ticks:

It is very important that you do a tick check when your child arrives home from camp. More info on how to do so can be found at https://www.trails.com/how_1198_check-for-ticks.html and http://www.cdc.gov/features/stopticks/

Blue Mountain Update:

The Blue Mt. Trip will need to be rescheduled as we did not get our reservation for this year. A substitute trip for January will be discussed at the next TLC meeting, December 4th after Wreath preparation.

Important Camping Trip Info

  • We will be meeting at 5p, and leaving at 6 sharp
  • Since it is Friday the 13th. We will be showing the first Friday the 13th Movie in the cabin when we get to camp. The movie is rated R due to violence and partial nudity. If you do not want your son to watch the movie, we understand, please tell us and we will have a separate activity for those boys.
  • All Scouts should bring their scout book, REGARDLESS of what rank they are.
