We are in need of drivers to help provide transport to camp on Thursday and back on Sunday. We need at least 2 volunteers for each.

The camping trip is at Ten Mile River Scout Camp in Narrowsburg, NY, which is about 2 hours from Trinity.

On Thursday, we are meeting promptly at 6p. For those of you that are always late, we are meeting promptly at 545p.

If you are signed up for this trip but were not planning to come on Thursday due to a previous commitment or meeting the group there or coming up on a different day, please reach out to Eric and let him know.

For those of you coming to the funeral for our fallen brother (from 2nd ave explosion) we will be meeting at Trinity at 630 Sharp, so please be there at 620. Scouts & Leaders attending are asked to be in full Class A uniform. If you are a member of the OA we ask that you wear your sash as well. John & I will be providing transport, In the case that more than 8 scouts attend we will need additional drivers. We expect to return to trinity at about 10P.

Nicholas Figueroa. Nicholas was a member of Troop 735 and was inducted into our Order in 2003 and sealed his membership in the Brotherhood in 2004 as a member of Man-A-Hattin Lodge. Nicholas was killed in the explosion on Second Avenue on March 27th. The family would like a scout presence.

Again this year, we have access to getting Luna Park 4-hr Wristbands at a discount—$18. They include the 24 Luna Park rides but NOT the Cyclone or Go-Karts and are good through the summer and fall 2015 seasons.

Typically, we have an outing to Luna Park during our summer session but these are available to everyone and their families to use at any time.

Date: Saturday May 9th

Time: 6p-10p (scouts are expected to stay afterwards and clean up)

Location: Trinity

Based off of the requests of the scouts, this upcoming trip will be the first we have done like this.

Youth will be broken up into patrols in advance of trip. Each patrol will make their own menu, buy their own food, and cook on their own. We will have a contest as to who can make the best breakfast, lunch and dinner. 2 Meals/day will be cooked over an open fire so plan accordingly.The other will be on a stove, Stove & Pans will be provided, everything else is the patrol’s responsibility

We will be staying in lean-to’s

There will be various skill based contests with great prizes. Ie. who can build a with fire using the bow and drill method, put up a tarp in the quickest amount of time, finding where you in the woods just using a map and compass, best shelter, and much more.

Cost of the trip will vary based on each patrol’s menu. We will charge $5/person to cover any incidental costs we have (please bring $5 on Friday).

As with all other trips, no electronics (except for a camera or am/fm radio) will be allowed.

Sign-up via email (respond to this post) or at Friday’s meeting. Due to the fact that a lot of planning is necessary for this trip. We are closing out sign-up on Friday at 730p.

We will be leaving on Thursday at 6p & expect to return around 12-1 on Sunday.

We will be staying by the Lodge House in Keowa.

Going forward, anyone who wants to run for the position of SPL must have completed the NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training).

In order to go, you must also receive a letter of recommendation from your scoutmaster, be at least a first class scout and 13 years or older.

I bring this up because 2 NYLT courses are coming this summer and the positions fill up quickly.
